The high-temperature superconductor YBa₂Cu₃O₇ is a very interesting material for many device applications ranging from wiring for energy transmission and high field magnets to superconducting filters and high frequency electronics in the THz regime.
In this talk the growth of epitaxial thin films is discussed with respect to the resulting electronic properties. The investigated devices for metrological purposes are dc-SQUIDS and Josephson junctions for THz-microscopy.
