Current research has witnessed the effects of Berry curvature, a curvature of the reciprocal space, on real space transport properties. The effect of real space curvature on real space transport properties, however, has not been explored too much. In this talk, I will focus on lattice waves and continuum waves on curved space. For the lattice waves, I will show how curvature modifies the lattice structure, introduce a generalized Bloch’s theorem[1] for these new lattices and discuss the curvature effect on the degeneracy of eigenstates. For the continuum waves, I will introduce a new formulism on elastic waves on 2D curved surfaces and discuss the curvature effect on the shape of the wave packet and wave propagation.
